FAQs

General Studio & Technical FAQs

Do you have your own studio? Yes! I work out of a professionally treated, broadcast-quality home studio. This allows me to offer quick turnarounds and high-quality audio without the added cost of external studio rentals.

What equipment do you use? I use industry-standard gear to ensure your project sounds polished and professional. My setup includes:

Studio & Equipment

To ensure every recording is broadcast-ready, I work from a dedicated, sound-treated home studio in New Zealand using a signal chain of industry-standard, world-class hardware.

  • Microphones: * The iconic Sennheiser MKH 416-P48 (The industry-standard shotgun mic for commercial and promo work).

Custom, hand-made GTZ-87 and GTZ-103 cardioid condenser microphones (Boutique New York City craftsmanship for a rich, detailed studio sound).

  • Interface: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (3rd Gen) high-headroom preamps.

  • Monitoring: Sennheiser HD 280 Pro Headphones and PreSonus Eris E3.5 BT active studio monitors for precision editing.

  • DAW & Processing: Adobe Audition equipped with Waves and iZotope plugins for pristine noise reduction and mastering.

  • Workstation: ASUS Zenbook running Windows 11.

Can I direct the session remotely? Absolutely. I love collaborating in real-time. We can connect via Source-Connect, Zoom, Skype, or Google Meet so you can provide direction while I record.

In what file format will I receive my audio? By default, I provide high-quality WAV (48kHz/24-bit) files. However, I can provide MP3, AIFF, or any other format you require.

Booking & Delivery

What is your standard turnaround time? For most projects under 1,000 words, I typically deliver the finished files within 24 hours. If you have an urgent "rush" request, please let me know and I will do my best to prioritise it.

How do you deliver the files? Once the audio is ready, I will send you a secure download link via Dropbox, WeTransfer, or Google Drive.

Do you offer revisions? I want you to be 100% happy with the result. My quotes include two rounds of minor revisions regarding tone or pacing. Please note that script changes made after the recording has been finalised may incur an additional fee.

Rates & Usage

How much do you charge? Rates vary depending on the length of the script, the platform where the audio will be used (e.g., local radio vs. national TV), and the duration of the "buyout" or usage period. Please contact me with your project details for a custom quote.

What does "Usage/Licensing" mean? Usage refers to where and for how long the voiceover will be broadcast. For example, a "Full Broadcast" license is required for TV or Radio ads, while "Non-Broadcast" covers internal corporate videos or e-learning.
